About Riverina Shearing
Riverina Shearing is a family-owned shearing contracting business based in Wagga Wagga, NSW, proudly servicing sheep producers throughout New South Wales and northern Victoria.
Founded by Lachlan Robertson, Riverina Shearing has grown from a small local operation into one of Australia's leading shearing contracting businesses.
Today, our team of around 60 experienced staff shears hundreds of thousands of sheep each year, providing professional shearing, crutching, wool handling and wool classing services to producers of all sizes.
We believe great shearing is about more than simply getting sheep through the shed. It’s about running an efficient operation, protecting animal welfare, presenting the best possible wool clip and providing producers with reliable crews they can count on. Our experienced teams take pride in delivering quality workmanship, clear communication and dependable service, treating every property with the professionalism and respect it deserves.
As our business continues to grow, our focus remains the same: investing in our people, supporting the next generation of industry professionals and continually improving the service we provide. World Record Achievement
In October 2025, Riverina Shearing proudly made history as the team that set a new world record in the five-stand Merino lamb shearing category.
The record saw our team shear an incredible 2,301 Merino lambs in a single day, showcasing the skill, teamwork and professionalism that define Riverina Shearing. Achieving a world record required months of preparation, precision and commitment, reflecting the dedication our team brings to every shed we work in.
The individual tallies achieved on the day were:
- Benjamin Duncan – 502 sheep
- Cameron Hicks – 488 sheep
- Nick Lehmann – 475 sheep
- Toby Walker – 447 sheep
- Lachlan (Lochie) Robertson – 389 sheep
The event was about more than breaking records. It also raised over $14,000 for local charities, including Ronald McDonald House Charities Riverina and Holbrook Public School, reinforcing our commitment to giving back to the communities that support our business.
While we’re incredibly proud of this achievement, our greatest measure of success is the service we provide to our clients every day. Whether we’re shearing a small family flock or a large commercial enterprise, our focus remains on quality workmanship, animal welfare, reliability and delivering a professional service producers can depend on.
